Cyprus Police in collaboration with the Center for Social Innovation (CSI), held in Nicosia, on
\n07\/10\/2024, a conference for the co-funded project \u201cDismantle: Improving the Police
\nResponse to Discrimination, Racism and Intolerance”.<\/p>\n
The duration of the project is two years and the partners are from Cyprus, Greece, Spain and
\nGermany. The project aims to provide targeted training for Police members in the following
\nareas: fundamental rights, understanding hate motivations, providing support to victims of
\ngender discrimination and the approach of vulnerable groups. The project is co-funded by the
\nEU program “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV). (project no. 101145049)
\nDuring the conference, the methodology and the expected outcomes of the project were
\npresented. The outcomes mainly concern the creation of educational material, the creation
\nof an online training platform and the training of Police members. In addition to the above,
\nthere were also presented the results of the research carried out as a task of the project and
\nwhich members of the Cyprus Police took part.<\/p>\n
Representatives of Government Services, Non-Governmental Organizations and other bodies
\nsuch as the Office of the Commissioner for Administration and the Protection of Human Rights
\n(Ombudsman), the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Mental Health Services,
\nSocial Welfare Services, Fire Service, Department of Immigration, House of Representatives,
\nUniversity of Cyprus, CYTA, International Organization for Migration, SPAVO, Hope for
\nChildren, Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of the Disabled, Association of Rheumatic
\nPatients of Cyprus, Pan-Cypriot Organization for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, College of
\nTourism, Reset Cy, Cyprus Computer Society, C. Palekythriti Law Office, DIKO and Wicz+
\nFoundation, attended the conference.<\/p>\n
