The Cyprus Police, specifically the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch, after the approval of the Chief of Police, takes part in the co-financed program “Horizon 2020” with the GRACE (Global Response Against Child Exploitation) project by signing a Grant Agreement.

The GRACE project (Global Response Against Child Exploitation) is supported by EUROPOL and implemented within the framework of the “Horizon 2020” program.

The main objective of the project is the development of technology for the rapid exchange and analysis of information regarding child sexual exploitation and abuse of minors (sexual exploitation and abuse of children) via the Internet on the basis of prioritization by each participating Member State.

The Global Response Against Child Exploitation (GRACE) project will address the challenges Law Enforcement faces in data collection, classification, exploitation, rapid information sharing as well as the analysis in the context of the investigation into the sexual abuse of children, using modern means of digital technology to effectively combat these crimes. In particular, through the cooperation between the Law Enforcement Authorities, it will improve their own capabilities and the utilization of experiential knowledge.

The Cyprus Police participates as an end user of the technologies along with 7 other Member State Police and EUROPOL.

The project receives funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program (Agreement No. 883341)
