The EU Funded Projects Unit (K.D.E.E.) was created in 2009 and is part of the Finance Directorate at Police Headquarters.
The Units’ mission is to monitor, identify and manage funds or financial opportunities offered by the European Union or other International Organizations.
We are a small group made up of Police officers, civilian personnel as well as consultants and external partners and experts who strengthen our work with the aim of managing efficiently and effectively European resources though project management.
Cyprus Police’s EU Funded Projects Unit has as its main purpose the planning, implementation and management of programs and projects funded by the European Union.
The main objective is the management of available European resources to strengthen the operational, technical and administrative capacities of Cyprus Police in Police cooperation matters as well as in Border management and migration issues.
Specifically, the EU Funded projects Unit implement programs aimed at improving security, crime prevention and addressing the challenges that arise in the field of policing. The resources are used for the development and implementation of projects that strengthen cooperation between the Cyprus Police and other competent bodies, encourage the use of modern technologies and improve the overall effectiveness of Police operations and activities.
In addition, we strengthen the capacities of the Cyprus Police in matters such as officers training, the development of innovative police programs, and the strengthening of the organization’s administrative capacity. Through these actions, the continuous adaptation and development of the Cyprus Police is achieved, in order to respond effectively to the necessary Police challenges in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
