Cyprus Police participates in the European VIRTUOUS project, which focuses on the protection of places of worship throughout Europe.
Strengthening the security and preparedness of religious communities against existing and emerging threats is a key objective of the VIRTUOUS project, in which Cyprus Police participates.
Through training, raising awareness, and cooperation between religious communities and the competent authorities, the project seeks to contribute to better preparedness for the prevention and management of security incidents.
In the video, Alkis Kakoulis, Head of Operations at Cyprus Police Headquarters, refers, among other things, to the use of drones for illegal activities as a modern challenge that concerns law enforcement authorities.
Through its participation in VIRTUOUS, Cyprus Police contributes to the exchange of knowledge and good practices with the goal of strengthening prevention, awareness, and preparedness in response to contemporary security challenges.
